Ethical Breeding
We pride ourselves on raising healthy, affectionate, and socially confident gentle giants. We do not place breeding cats at CaliCats Maine Coons. Our "coonlets" are cared for underfoot (never caged) as cherished family members.
Unlike typical Maine Coons, most of our cats are lap cats, and some exhibit the "begging gene." If you're looking to bring home one of our kittens or retired show cats, our team will screen you at our cattery or in your home.
This way, we can be sure our Maine Coons will have a healthy, loving forever home and family life. Additionally, please take note that we accept pickups or deliveries in person only.
CaliCats Maine Coons exhibits in the Cats Fanciers’ Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association (TICA)
CaliCats is a CFA Tier I Cattery of Distinction and has achieved multiple Grand Champions and Grand Premiers, Regional Winners, National, and International Winners in the USA and other countries.
Caveat emptor: scammers and non-legit breeders claiming their cats are from champion lines is a giveaway that you are not getting a healthy quality cat. If you disagree, CaliCats is not the cattery for you. Legit breeders are happy to share health test results and provide veterinary and kitten buyer references.
